Mango Sago Dessert

Mango Sago Dessert is an Asian sweet that originates from Hong Kong. I always want to try this and this round is a good excuse for me to try this whereas it was hot sunny day. This is such a refreshing chill dessert to have on a hot and high humid temperature here. :)

MANGO SAGO DESSERT

Ingredients
100 gram Sago*
400 gram mangoes
100 gram caster sugar
200ml evaporated milk
400ml Marigold PeelFresh Mango Juice
Red Currant or Pomelo (options)

Method
  1. Soak the sago in cold water for 15 minutes and drain. This will wash away some of the starch from the sago.
  2. In a saucepan of boiling water add the sago.
  3. Cook, stirring the sago over medium-high heat. When the sago becomes partially cooked (translucent) turn the heat off.
  4. Cover with a saucepan lid and set aside, allowing the steam to cook the sago through.
  5. When the sago is translucent, drain and run under cold water.
  6. Process the mango until it becomes pureed.
  7. Add the evaporated milk and caster sugar.
  8. Distribute the mixture evenly among the ramekins or bowls.
  9. Add the sago and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until cool. Serve cold with extra mango pieces if preferred. I added some fresh red currant as topping.
* Sago is edible starch and that can be easily found from any grocery shop or hypermarket.

LINE Moon Porridge

Mother in law is having serious ulcer for past few days. It make her less appetite with any food. I decide to cook porridge for family and really thanks to 5AM Bento mummy idea. She gave me the idea even it is porridge can also have some art in it. ;p

I cook porridge with onion and vegetarian mock meat. I made the LINE Moon for Olivia and it is made by nori and little of ketchup for blusher. It is pretty easy.

Cutezcute Panda

It was a lovely sunday. I always want to try out using cutecutez mould to make this for my family.

The bread you can pre-mould on character you like and toast it. I may over-toast and lead the bread cannot easily bend.

The breakfast is served with eggs, sausages and salads. Salads are derived from lettuce, red currant and grapes and little but of sesame seed salad oil.

Thank you,Bear Bento

It is still school holiday. I knew Olivia form teacher will left from her work and pursuing her degree studies. I actually missed out the Thanksgiving day but it does not stop me to bento-ing this. ;p

The idea was inspired from Bento Monsters which she always share out her talented and brilliant recipes and nice bento art work.

Bread is filled with nutella chocolate. Bear is made from BBQ cheese which all you need was mould of bear and rabbit mould. Tail and stick s made from bread. Board frame is made from bread skin and nutella as black board. I actually wanted to make Thank You instead I Love You but I found wording size mould I had now is too big for the board.

I am run out of fruits and I filled it with prunes and Ferrero Rocher Chocolate.

It was a surprised which this bento is not for my girl but for her teacher. Olivia was so happy that she say she can give this bento to her teacher. Hope she like it.

Thank you, Teacher Ern Nee!
