The Three Little Pigs Toast

Olivia love to watch this from I download in Japanese version. She found the Japanese language create more fun and cutey compared English. Then, I start think I had made this bento for her before in this case I may something different to present it.

I try my very first toast after seeing Li Mings' creative idea. Hm....not really meet my expectation. May try out again if I have the time again. :)

The first little pig built his house by straw. The pig are made from quail egg, crab stick for its blush, details adding by nori and the house are made by bonito (fish flakes) and small door made by cheese and served with grapes.

The second little pig built his house out of sticks. I just realized all her biscuits in sticks shape had gone. :( I have to use biscuits to show it is the idea from second little pig and fruits served dried wild hibiscus.

The third little pig built his house out of bricks. Bricks House are made from Ham. I use Fun Bites Cube it. It gives me faster, easier and neat way to finish the third toast. After snap, I only realized I had missed out the important character - Big Bad Wolf! The first 2 plates had been sent to my brother and my girl stomach.

I add on 1 wolf made from nori and cheese for her. Phew....

Soldier and Bee Bento

This is my last bento as tonight I need to pack up and get ready to travel to Penang. I wanted to make something related to Chinese New Year festive but realized my fridge had went to empty condition. :)

The little soldier I bought from Cold Storage though it is slight pricey but worth value as it is handmade butter cookies. I used the pineapple tart to make as bee but it turn really turns up well and it is so fragile and keep me stop to think off wrap over its body with nori.

I also pack with mandarin orange in Cantonese 'Lo Kam' which we can only seen and have it once a year during Chinese New Year Festival.

Rest well if you need to drive long hours and may the Chinese New Year usher in prosperity and many golden opportunities for you!

Oreo Pop Happy Childrens Day

I did not pack any bento for her as last night was busy trying tiger pop and decide Oreo pop and Tiger pop nicer before I go mass production in making it.

I plan it week ago after get info from principle, I am not good at baking and cooking thus for beginner dummy like me must really plan what to make or what to bring for kids who can enjoy happily. Olivias' kinder have muslim and vegetarian friends which it narrow down things alot choice and preference.

I had made 2 types of biscuit pop which is Oreo & Tiger. Casting their vote as follow
1) William - Tiger Pop
2) Lawrence - Oreo Pop (he is chocolate fancy)
3) Mother in law - Both also fine
4) Olivia - Oreo

Final decision: Oreo Pop! I guess the oreo had generate some cool mint element. ^-^

Remarks: Not really pleasant nice look but I hope kids and teachers love it. :)

Oreo Pop

Serving: 20-25 pax

Ingredients:-
  • 200 gram Oreo / Tiger Biscuits
  • Butter 70-80g (I use Margarine as I m not sure vegetarian can take butter or not)
  • 100gram Compound Chocolate (cut it into small pieces)
  • Deco subject to preference
  • 'Lollipop' stick
Methods:
  1. Blend the biscuits into fine manner.
  2. Melt the butter with low heat, pour the biscuit and stir evenly.
  3. Roll into ball shape. I use melon scoop simply it is small enough and kids can have bite size easily. Freeze it 15 minutes.
  4. Double boil the compound chocolate with low heat fire. You can melt the chocolate little by little.*
  5. Gently use the stick with little compound chocolate and insert into ball shape oreo and freeze it another 10 minutes.
  6. Dip it into compound chocolate and decorate it. Your Oreo Pop are on board! ^-^
* Compound chocolate will get even rough and hard if too frequent you reheat and melt back.
